It's our last week of the Summer Reading Program and we're going to make one of my favorite things! A fairy house or gnome home can be as simple or as complex as you wish. For mine I used a paper towel cardboard tube that I cut down a little bit, glued some paper "bark" and dried moss onto it, and created a roof with some card stock. I found a little piece of some faux greenery to add to the top. If I put this outside it would not hold up to the elements! This is an inside house, so keep that in mind. Did you know that dragonflies are the fastest flying insect? They can fly over 18 miles per hour! The dragonflies that we're making today definitely won't fly that fast, but they will be just as pretty!! Regular white glue will work just fine for these, just make sure to give it time to dry completely! Click here for the PDF.

Week seven is a fun and easy paint project!! This is a great activity for even the youngest ones, particularly those that don't enjoy getting their hands messy or dirty!! Grownups might like to try this too. I had fun making the samples!! :) Click here for the printable instructions. Apply random dots on your paper. Place a piece of plastic wrap over the paint and squish the paint around with your fingers. Peel the plastic wrap off and let the paint dry. Finished!!

It's already week six of the SRP! Can you believe it?!? For week four we made some cool dragon eyes. This week we're going to make a dragon from a pool noodle!! The activity for Week 3 of the SRP is an outdoor scavenger hunt. Not just any scavenger hunt though, this is a woodland fairy nature hunt!!
